Our mentoring program is designed to use nature observation, awareness and earth based skills to introduce a new world of adventure, self-reliance, and the passion to learn without the students realizing they are being taught.  Our intention is to open our students the mind, body, and spirit to our earth’s delicate environment and ecosystems in which they live their daily lives.  We have a flexible curriculum that revolves around the basic four skills of survival: shelter, water, fire, and food.  This gives us the opportunity to read our students individually and as a group, in order to lead them in the most suitable direction to meet their needs at an appropriate pace.

Many of us wish we lived in a simpler time possessing the skills of our ancestors and being able to pass them on to our children and grandchildren.  This program focuses on stimulating children's existing passions, their desire to learn more, and their innate love of nature. We build off those blocks and add layers of learning and experience in wilderness skills, such as: making cordage, fire by friction, stone tools, sensory awareness games, emergency fire building, Lost proofing, wild food gathering and preparation, search and rescue skills, practical camping skills and more.
